The zoo has several areas within the grounds that can cater for anything from a simple picnic or
BBQ for a large family event, through to an exclusive balcony, that allows your guests to wine and dine on the most exquisite foods, whilst being surrounded by some of the zoos largest and most breath taking animals.

Asian Jungle - function area

This is a small, quiet spot nestled amongst beautiful gardens with a small grassed area
alongside a covered pergola with large picnic tables and bench seats and two separate BBQ’s. Nearby is the Birds of Asia aviary and the Red Panda exhibit, all can be easily accessed from the function area. This area would suit a small group with guests numbering no more than 25-30. Suitable for lunchtime events, or early evening functions (daylight savings)

African Plains - function area

This is a large grassed area that is situated amongst many of our animals from Africa. It also has a covered pergola area with picnic tables and bench seats and two separate BBQ’s. Surrounding this area are exhibits for Zebra, Black and White Colobus Monkey and the Cheetah. This area is capable of holding larger groups with guests numbering approx 60-70 and possibly more. Suitable for lunchtime events and early evening functions (daylight savings) it also makes a good central venue for corporate Family Days.

The Catwalk

If unique is what you are looking for, then this is it. The Catwalk is one of the zoos major attractions.
A long boardwalk is suspended out over 30 metres into the middle of three of the zoos "big cat" enclosures, with uninterrupted views and only water between you and the big cats. Here your guests can spend time chatting and laughing, while listening to the roar of the zoos rare white lions only metres away. While on the other side the ever watchful eyes of our tawny lion pride follow your every move. This area is suitable to cater for a more up market function and can be utilized for corporate functions, product launches, or perhaps a Christmas party for your employees or most valued customers. Able to hold up to 100 seated guests, this area is perfect for cocktails and canapés up to 140 standing guests, in the late afternoon enjoying our animals when they are at their best.

Twilight on the terrace (Corporate Sponsors only)

Functions for corporate sponsors and partners of the zoo are held on an exclusive basis on the "executive terrace". Perched high above the rest of the zoo, the terrace has sweeping views from Scrivener Dam to Woden Valley. Surrounded by animals on all four sides, the terrace provides guests with exclusive access to several of the zoos high profile animals such as Brown Bears and the beautiful Snow Leopards during the function. No expense is spared and your guests are guaranteed to walk away smiling. We believe that there is nowhere else like it in the world, and your guests will certainly be talking about it for many years to come. Able to hold 100 guests for cocktails or 50 seated. The terrace is provided exclusively to zoo sponsors and their guests.
