OPENING TIMES:
10.00am - 5.00pm every day of the year - except Christmas Day. The kiosk and Gift Shop are open during these hours.
Please note that entry to the kiosk/coffee shop requires that zoo entry be paid.

Carers for Special Needs Visitors:
Carers for special needs visitors are admitted free of charge, with their paying guest. Carers ID is required upon entry.
Maximum F.O.C ratio - 1:1.
COMPANION CARD Holders receive Free Entry, as well as their Carer.

The National Zoo & Aquarium is Australia's only combined Zoo and Aquarium.
That's 2 attractions in one! We are situated on around 7 hectares of land just five minutes from the centre of Canberra. With a wide variety of both native and exotic animals, as well as the largest inland saltwater tank in Australia, there is something for everyone.

Wander in and have a casual stroll around the park, or make a day of it with family, friends and make use of our picnic areas and complimentary BBQ facilities.

Our animal encounters provide visitors with an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the worlds most amazing creatures!

 For the game and adventurous - book an interactive encounter with our Cheetah.

 Take part in the award winning Zooventure Tour , the Family Tour , or the amazing
Walk on the Wild Side Tour.

 Book an Animal Encounter - personal, behind the scenes meetings with Giraffe, Sharks, Sun Bears, White Lions & Red Panda. These take place every day. Book in advance online or check with Reception on arrival regarding availability for that day. Daily Timetable

  Interactive Keeper Talks* and special animal hand feeds for visitors - which include photo opportunities - take place on weekends, Canberra School Holidays and Public Holidays. No bookings necessary, just be at the enclosure at the designated time to either watch, or pay the Keeper to participate. Daily Activities* take place every other day (*weather permitting)

 Have an exciting Safari BirthdayTour for your child, or a completely catered function that you'll never forget.

Zoocation Holiday Sessions is the school holiday program that offers a fun, interactive and educational learning experience for children attending Kindy through to Year 6.

 The Gift Shop at The National Zoo & Aquarium is stocked full of a great variety of souvenirs to remind you of your visit, from pocket money toys to quality clothing and wildlife themed Giftware. Purchases made in our Gift Shop contribute to our special animal programs here at the Zoo.
