Kick off the School Holidays at the National Zoo!

Celebrate the start of the summer holidays with a weekend full of family fun at the National Zoo & Aquarium!

The zoo will come alive from 10AM to 3PM on both Saturday 20 December and Sunday 21 December with festive entertainment, hands-on activities and special animal moments designed to delight guests of all ages.

Across both days visitors can enjoy an exciting line up of holiday activations. Relax in the Viewing Park as you listen to live music, join in on lawn games, get festive with Christmas stories or unleash your creativity during guided craft sessions. 

As with any great day out, no celebration is complete without delicious treats. Follow your nose to our wagyu sausage sizzle and pick up fresh baked goods from our NZACT volunteers, with all funds going directly toward conservation programs.

All activities are free for members and included with general admission, making it the perfect way to welcome the holidays with family and friends. And this is just the beginning! We will be offering exciting activities all summer long so stay tuned to our website and social media for updates!
