For 90 minutes you will experience the magnificence of the world’s most dangerous and endangered animals and learn how to help save them in the wild.
Experience the serenity as you visit the lions and meerkats while they rise to meet the sun and be the first to greet the otters as they prepare for the day. Find our leopards and get your heart racing as you come face-to-face feeding a serval, tiger, bear and even a beautiful hyena (yes, beautiful!). This tour is held early in the day when our animals are most active so join us for one of the most interactive animal tours available worldwide!

This tour will instil a sense of wonder regarding the wild species of Africa. Many African species face well known threats, so learn all about these amazing animals and how we can act to help them before it’s too late.
Join us for a 90-minute journey through the wilds of Africa. Meet our gentle giants, the rhinoceros and experience the texture of their skin and feel dwarfed as you feed out the giraffe’s breakfast. Hear the chirp of a cheeky cheetah and see the distinctive trot of a zebra as they delicately receive some carrot treats.

This is more than just an evening tour of the zoo!

You will spend the majority of your 7 hour tour meeting and providing enrichment for many of our larger and more dangerous animals, along with the smaller, charismatic species. These activities are vitally important as well as fun and enriching for the animals and subject to their willingness, you will most likely:
Enter the enclosure of the world’s fastest land animal in a Meet-a-Cheetah encounter
Hide breakfast for our sun bears
Meet the amazing rhinos and experience the texture of their skin
Stand eye-level with a giraffe as it reaches for the food that you hold

Curious Creatures Tour
2 hours of entertaining our animals!
We need to keep our animals thinking, moving, playing and testing themselves! And today it’s your turn to test them!

Can you create a toy that engages a curious otter for a minute or will it be left in the dust? Or maybe you’ll have the dubious honour of being outsmarted by a monkey!
Each day at the zoo is a brand new adventure as we respond to the needs of the animals and we invite you to be a part of the magic!

A discussion on the history and importance of enrichment.
Tour of the behind-the-scenes enrichment room and facilities
The materials and expertise of a guide or keeper who will help you create specialised enrichment items.

Focus on Wildlife is a special guided tour that takes small groups behind the scenes to photograph our Zoo animals at their very best!

Love wildlife photography? Want a chance to get closer to the action?
The Focus on Wildlife Tour is an all day experience designed to take guests behind the scenes for better vantage points to photograph many of the fascinating zoo animals.
Join renowned zoo photographer Kelly McGannon and learn not only about the animals, but how to get the most out of your camera.
Each tour features the unique opportunity to get closer than you thought possible to some of our zoo favourites, catching them during feed times or receiving some exciting enrichment!
Have the chance to review your photos during morning tea and lunch before you head out again to explore the unique angles of our amazing wildlife.
Tour Time:
7:00am/7:30am to 3:30pm (times may vary during winter, please check your email confirmation for start times)
