We need to keep our animals thinking, moving, playing and testing themselves! And today it’s your turn to test them!

Can you create a toy that engages a curious otter for a minute or will it be left in the dust? Or maybe you’ll have the dubious honour of being outsmarted by a monkey! 

Each day at the zoo is a brand new adventure as we respond to the needs of the animals and we invite you to be a part of the magic!

Each tour includes:

  • A discussion on the history and importance of enrichment.

  • Tour of the behind-the-scenes enrichment room and facilities

  • The materials and expertise of a guide or keeper who will help you create specialised enrichment items.

  • A guided tour to deliver your enrichment creations and pre-made pieces

  • Front row seats to two training sessions across the zoo

This is more than just an evening tour of the zoo!

Have the zoo to yourselves, enjoy a motorised tour, dinner and a sundowner stop with drinks!

Tours run during daylight savings, 11th of October 2025 - 4th of April 2026.

The adventure includes:

  1. All vehicles have their own guide, who will also drive the vehicle

  2. A motorised* tour to see the animals (naturally!)

  3. ‘African Sundowners’ during the tour - a stop in front of the animals with a snack and soft drinks – right out of Africa!

  4. Scenic ‘Hayride’ for the kids. While parents enjoy a relaxing drink, a guide will take the younger guests on a tractor ride (parents can accompany them if desired).
