World Wildlife Weekend at the National Zoo & Aquarium

Step into a celebration of animals from around the globe at World Wildlife Weekend at the National Zoo & Aquarium.

This special event invites visitors to explore the wonders of wildlife through engaging keeper talks, hands-on family activities, and opportunities to connect with the people who care for the animals every day.

Enjoy relaxed outdoor fun with lawn games and colouring stations designed for all ages, then head along to ‘Meet the Zoo Team’ sessions. Visitors can chat with zoo keepers, discover how education programs operate, learn what it takes to become a volunteer, and ask the questions they have always had about working in wildlife care.

A new collectable medallion, badge and Fun Fact Card are released during Wild Weekends of Animals every two weeks. During World Wildlife Weekend, all except for one previous version will be available for visitors at a discounted price. Guests who become members on the day of their visit will have their entry fee deducted from the membership cost and can purchase the full collectable set!

World Wildlife Weekend offers an engaging way to learn, play and discover what makes the National Zoo & Aquarium community unique while celebrating wildlife conservation together.

Wild Explorers

🦁 Meet the Zoo Team!
- Head to the Viewing Park (T4) to come and meet a zoo team member, learn and ask all the questions you have about zoo keeping, chat to our Education team on how our tours run at the zoo (maybe you'll become an education officer yourself) or learn what it takes to be a volunteer!
  - Wildlife - Saturday 12pm, Sunday 1:30pm.
  - Volunteer - Saturday 12:30pm, Sunday 11:30am.
  - Education - Saturday 1pm, Sunday 1pm.

🪙 Collectable medallions, badges and cards

A new collectable medallion, badge and Fun Fact Card are released on 'Wild Weekends of Animals' every two weeks. All except for one previous version will be available for visitors this week at a discounted price - become a member on the day of your visit and not only will you get your entry fee deducted from your membership cost, but you can also buy the full set of Collectables!

Wild Discoveries

🎨 Colouring station in the Rhino Bistro (T2)
- Get creative and decorate your own animal themed colouring sheet to take home.
🎉 Lawn Games
- Challenge friends and family to outdoor fun with bean bag toss, mini golf, ring toss, and other traditional lawn games.
